AUSTRALIA'S MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACH SKYDIVE

Who We Are

Pete Lonnon and Chris SparrowThe Chief Instructor of Skydive Jurien Bay is Pete Lonnon. Pete is the most experienced Chief Instructor in Western Australia. He has been running Pete’s Parachuting at Wickham Skydiving Club near Karratha, Western Australia, since the start of 2003. Between 1994 and 2002 he ran Pete’s Parachuting in Darwin where he took thousands of people tandem skydiving onto Darwin’s famous Mindle Beach. Prior to that, he instructed at and managed skydiving operations in Darwin, Alice Springs and Adelaide. Pete takes pride in his immacualate safety record as a Chief Instructor, which has never been marred by a serious injury. Pete started skydiving in 1982, so long ago that his first fifty jumps were on an old round parachute. In almost three decades skydiving he has done more than 9000 skydives. He has achieved almost every licence and rating the Australian Parachute Federation has, including “F” licence, old fashioned Static Line Instructor, Accelerated Freefall and Tandem Instructor plus Instructor Examiner Ratings, as well as Licenced Display Organiser and of course Instructor “A”. He has at various times sat on the board of the Australian Parachute Federation and the Northern Territory Parachute Council. He is also a commercial aeroplane pilot with thousands of hours “jump flying” under his belt. Pete’s partner Chrissy is also a current skydiving Instructor “B” with more than 1300 jumps. Together thay have two small children who are already showing skydiving tendencies!

Skydive Jurien Bay Tandem InstructorsChris Garcia is our longest serving tandem instructor. He learnt to skydive in NSW and has jumped all over Europe. With around 2000 skydives, and hailing from NSW, he’s enjoying the West Coast and is proving an invaluable member of our team.

Our senior instructor is Mike Williamson. From rural Victoria, and full of country charm, Mike is also a qualified parachute rigger. That means not only does he take you tandem skydiving, he’s doubly responsible for saving your life because he maintains all our equipment to the higest standards and packs the reserves as well. For this reason, everyone is always specially nice to him. Mike has worked all over Australia and began jumping at Corowa, Victoria. With thousands of jumps and many years experience, you know you’re in trustworthy hands with Mikey.

Our kiwi pilot is Simon Garland. Simon has more than 500 hours flying experience.

In the office, you’ll find Tanya Hatch and Anna Speet, and working behind the scenes packing your parachutes is Alysha Macfarlane.

Our Aircraft

We fly a Cessna 206 which takes six people or three tandem pairs, plus a Cessna 182 which takes 4 people or two tandems. We are extremely proud of both our aircraft which are immaculately maintained and presented.
